There are many cases in which parents get separated by divorce and children have to cope with these situations and get used to living with an only parent. These cases are really serious and their gravity usually affects children from a psychological point of view. For this reason, psychologists have decided that children must not be very much involved in situations of this kind, as they must be protected from the stress caused by such cases.

However, many of the situations in which parents get divorced end tragically, obliging children to choose between their mother or their father. This is not an easy process, as children do not have the necessary power of judging such situations. For this reason, child custody lawyers have had a great deal f work in the past years. Child custody is indeed an ardent problem of the modern society and for this reason there are also many complications to appear in the cases of such gravity. The function of child custody lawyers is that of pleading for the benefit of their clients, whether these are mothers of fathers. However, the final decision in such a process is still owned by the judges. That is why the process is very complex, as it is composed of numerous elements that judges need to take into consideration before giving the final sentence.

There are many laws that apply for such situations but it actually seems that they are not enough in order to clarify all the elements and complications that appear in such conditions. Along history judges have confronted with the weirdest cases of this kind and in some of these the parents did not even deserve to be given the custody of their children. In others, parents did not even want to live with their children and the weirdness of such cases was coming from the parents’ decision of placing their children in the care of relatives, or even worse, in foster homes.

The problems caused by child custody are indeed varied and numerous. It is the function of the lawyers and judges to try and solve these cases amiably and to decide the best for the children first of all. This in fact a very important element to take into consideration: the welfare and benefits of children. No matter the result of the sentence, child rights must be respected thoroughly and for that it is very important to judge these cases objectively, by thinking about the little ones first.
