Laptop
My First Computer. The word computer always evokes an amazingly creative feeling within us. The word epitomizes the height of creative and innovative possibilities for which this amazing creation o f man can be utilised. The world has not been the same since the advent of modern computers however lets not disregard the contribution of the ancient civilizations that played their part in advancing the computer technologies and principals by introducing the advance computing and logic building machines and theorems that are now being effectively used by us. The first computers, the Abacus, were effectively used by the ancient mathematicians to perform many a complex calculations and at the same time they were able to advance the model and create a slide rule for more accurate and faster computing.
The Modern Computer. The modern computer did not arrive on the scene till the beginning of the 20th century. The discovery of Solid State physics and its innumerable applications led to deluge of Electronics and computing breakthroughs. Thus the first computers were born and admired. However, with every passing day the computing capacity was advancing the so were the computers. A stage has reached where the computing speed and the microprocessor speed have increased over million times the original speeds. Amazing, is the not the word that describes this leap of technology. However, not satisfied with the creation of the modern day computers, the technicians and scientists joined hands to cerate a portable model and what a wonderful beauty of piece that too. A Laptop was born and was easily accepted by millions as the savior tot heir dilemma of travel and work amalgamation.
The Laptop (Mini Computer). The Laptop derived its name form the fact that these lightweight computers, which run on their inbuilt rechargeable batteries, were most convenient to be rested on the lap and could be operated with ease and the flexibility of utilizing both the hands at the same time without having to support the Laptop. The advancements in the batteries filed have given a new lease of life to the Laptop since the utilization of these Laptops has been ensured with additional life. In fact the life (Charged) of these modern batteries is several times more than those batteries which had arrived along with the First Laptops. The batteries, the skins, the TFT screen, the carry cases and most importantly the gadgetry and the software choices available make a Laptop the best friend and traveling companion of a the working class.
Small Is Beautiful. The smaller and slimmer the Laptop becomes the more beautiful and attractive it becomes. The development in Nan electronics and Quantum technologies have crushed the Laptop sizes remarkably and now it isn’t surprising to find wafer thin Laptops in use. The size though reduced the working ability and the capacity if the machine to produce output has increased manifolds over the years. The technology is bound to proceed at a break neck speed and so the Laptops can be expected to further advance (in fact shrink) and become more pocket and user friendly with better ergonomics and compatibility with her humans.
